PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Love's Travel Stop & RV Park

3 Rocks Engineering and Surveying has provided engineering services for Love’s Travel Stops throughout the state of Colorado. Services have included designing their largest RV Park to date, multiple truck stops and convenience stores, providing structural engineering designs, and providing surveying services.

Fire in Florence, CO

In August 2021, a large commercial building in Florence, Colorado, caught fire, and the roof of the building caved in. Our team was hired to do a structural inspection of the space and provide structural design for the framing and trusses. 3 Rocks Engineering worked with the contractor throughout the process to bring this historic structure back to life.

Desert Reef Hot Springs

​The new owners of this unique hot-springs destination hired 3 Rocks Engineering to work on various structural and civil aspects of the project. When it was discovered that the original OWTS (septic system) had failed (was not designed by 3 Rocks), we stepped in to design a new OWTS that overcame the challenges of clayey soils and high groundwater. Unique buildings required creative solutions from our structural team that we were happy to provide.

Fremont County Airport Drainage Study & Improvements Design

A master drainage study was completed by 3 Rocks Engineering for Fremont County after completing site investigations and hydrologic and hydraulic calculations. Existing stormwater infrastructure was analyzed and recommendations for improvements were made. The primary improvement includes a large channel that diverts the majority of runoff from the east industrial park to a new detention basin. 3 Rocks Engineering has continued to serve the county through multiple county engineers and the project is currently being bid with support from our team.

Pathfinder Community Center & No-Rise

Acting as the civil engineer on this design-build project for Fremont County, Colorado, 3 Rocks Engineering provided civil construction documents, completed a no-rise analysis, and coordinated utilities to the site. The civil construction documents included grading, drainage, utility, and site plans that were worked on in conjunction with feedback from the county and contractor. As challenges outside of the “typical” civil engineering scope arose, we stepped in to help broker easement agreements, coordinate with stakeholders, and help with non-civil related construction challenges. This project was a great success and now an important part of many great events in Fremont County!

High Gardens RV Park

High Gardens RV Park, located in Florence, Colorado. 3 Rocks Engineering provided the Grading and Drainage Design, Site Design, and Utility Design for this project. Our team also has conducted the SWMP inspections for erosion control that are required by the state until stabilization is achieved.

Royal Gorge Rafting

A steel commercial building requiring water quality treatment solutions and a large retaining wall. This project required frequent communication between the owner, the city, and adjacent property owners. This project is a great addition to the heart of Cañon City!

Hotel St. Cloud

The Hotel St. Cloud is a historic hotel in Cañon City. 3 Rocks Engineering was originally brought onto the project to provide civil engineering services for the utilities, site layout, grading, and drainage. Our scope included the design of the valet area and required research into existing utilities. Because of the trust that we had built with the client, they eventually asked us to provide structural engineering services as well to work as a part of the team that they originally hired for structural services. It’s been a successful partnership that has helped reduce the financial burden on a challenging historic renovation project.
